This piece is comprised of the eyes of 250 animals. These animals were all individually photographed outside slaughterhouses in the UK by vegan photographer Saving Me, and I used these 250 photographic references with her permission. The number of individuals drawn here is representative of the number of animals killed every second in this country for the sake of animal products (according to viva.org.uk). Approximately 15,000 animals are killed every single minute in the UK alone – or around 250 every second.

It took me roughly 80 hours to depict the number of animals that are killed needlessly in the UK every second. In the time it took me to create this piece, 72,000,000 more animals were killed.
