The link between pandemics and the consumption of animals is undeniable. Civets, pangolins, and bats have all been linked to zoonotic disease outbreaks, but they are not to blame for being exploited, trafficked, or having their homes invaded by us. Due to our thoughtless consumption of both wild and domesticated animals, the next pandemic is inevitable. We must respect these sentient beings, protect them, see them as individuals, and also know when to leave them alone – not only for our sake, but for theirs too. 🌏🦠🐾
